Decorative Paper

Decorative Papers
Using water colors, glitter, and crumpling and folding the kids made decorative papers!  This project is super fun.  The final results yields wrapping paper, craft papers, or a masterpiece in itself.
For wrapping paper, it's lovely to rub a wax candle with a beautiful scent on the finished product.  Makes a one of a kind gift!

Little Inspirations

Knowing what inspires us and what we love gets those creative juices flowing!  Today the kids created an inspiration board, cutting and pasting from books and magazines, using words and stickers to create a visual of who they are and what lovely things inspire them.  I'm inspired by them!

Here are a few examples:

Sienna had a ball and even found words to perfectly describe her board...All Girl.

Brendan was inspired by an art supply catalog.  Paints, colors, and lines.

Sienna showed up in her Twinkle Toes shoes...perfect for getting in the creative mood!  I love them!

WOW!  It would be fun to decorate a pair of plain shoes to look like these!

Alaina is proud of her puppet!

I love the umbrella Lia made from a cupcake liner!

Ben's starfish is wearing swim trunks!

Introduction to Color Theory

This class is going to be fun!  We're going to discover color as we learn about primary colors, secondary colors, and tertiary colors.  Some of our activities will even include painting.  Oh joy!

Today the kids learned how to mix colors together with paint!  They also painted the white t-shirts used as smocks for each class.  We had a great time!
